Ovels without opening Ovels.
A home-screen widget on both iOS and Android surfaces the numbers you'd otherwise open the app just to check: today's streak, water progress, and whether a workout's been logged yet.
Keeping it accurate without the app running
The widget can't read the live app state directly — it works from a small snapshot written whenever the app is open, tagged with the local day it was computed for. That's what lets the widget tell "today's real total" apart from "whatever was last written, possibly yesterday," and reset the water and workout-status fields at midnight while letting the streak count carry over correctly.
On Android, the widget's +water button works even with the app fully closed — a headless handler updates the snapshot directly, no launch required.
